VR surgery training platform

Mechanical designElectronicsFirmwarePrototyping

Challenge

Create a compact surgical training platform that could reproduce the movement, resistance, and tactile feedback of real laparoscopic instruments while accurately tracking multiple interacting mechanisms.

What we did

Developed the mechanical architecture, electronics, embedded software, and motion-tracking system. Iterative prototypes and surgeon testing helped translate subjective physical feedback into measurable engineering requirements.

Outcome

Delivered a functional laparoscopic simulation platform with realistic instrument movement and haptic feedback, ready for further software integration and validation across additional surgical procedures.

Mechanical designElectronicsPrototypingManufacturing

Challenge

Fit a display, pressure sensor, pneumatic system, communications module, and controls into a compact cuff-mounted blood pressure monitor while preserving the client’s ergonomic housing design and manufacturability.

What we did

Reworked the electronics architecture and PCB layout around the constrained enclosure, including a separate sensor board and angled display mounting. We also developed the silicone button, cuff connection, enclosure, and production documentation through iterative prototyping.

Outcome

Delivered three working prototypes and a complete design package covering the electronics, housing, and cuff, advancing the device from an early functional prototype to a system validated in a realistic operating environment.
